The Leiden University Fund (LUF) raises funds among Leiden’s alumni in particular and uses these to subsidise education and research projects of faculties and researchers, or to finance endowed chairs for the university. But students can also appeal to the LUF for funds for activities that add value to their education.
Furthermore, the LUF organises various activities for Leiden’s alumni in the Netherlands and throughout the world, such as the annual Cleveringa Meetings and gatherings for the ‘Keyholders’.
The Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) enjoys an excellent reputation throughout the world for the quality of their fundamental research and patient care.
The Bontius Foundation raises the resources necessary to support research at the LUMC. Through the Bontius Foundation, named after Leiden’s first professor of medicine Gerardus Bontius (1536-1590), you can choose to specifically support the LUMC and even contribute to particular research projects taking place there.
The Historical Commission for Leiden University works to increase the knowledge of, and the interest in, the history of Leiden University.
